The South Fork 2A is making progress on a launch of its own website and an opportunity for fans to pay to watch live streaming of some athletic events.

In a Facebook post, the South Fork 2A’s Butch Parker said details about events that will be streamed this season will be available next week at sfcnetwork.tv.

Sports available will be varsity volleyball, basketball and football (see conference schedule below with a specific streaming schedule TBA).

How many fans, if any, will be allowed to attend sporting events in the South Fork 2A is to be determined and guided by state guidelines about COVID-19.

In an earlier conference meeting, Parker said fees for watching events will be determined and he anticipates a single event fee and/or a seasonal fee.

Fans can follow any or all of the league’s eight schools – Bandys, East Lincoln, Lake Norman Charter, Lincolnton, Maiden, Newton-Conover, North Lincoln and West Lincoln — by clicking on the school emblem at the site.

At that conference meeting, Parker said each school would pay approximately $1,000 to provide streaming through the site. Revenue generated will go to the schools, i.e. revenue from a Maiden at Bandys football game would go to Bandys as the home team.

People’s Bank and Lake Norman Electric of Maiden will sponsor the events at the streaming website (The Video Stream Team LLC, led by Chris Rithie), the league announced Friday.
