Jarrett, a former star at Hickory High and at Charlotte, has been sent back to the Fredrick Keys, a transaction that came on Wednesday. He had moved up to Class AA Bowie on April 27.
On Thursday night, he sparked the Keys’ 8-7 win at Myrtle Beach (S.C.) by going 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a three-run home run in the ninth inning. He batted fifth in the lineup and played centerfield. The game drew 6,232 fans.
Jarrett is hitting .257 this season with two home runs and 13 RBIs and is hitting .212 with one home run and five RBIs in his last 10 games. He’s a .260 career hitter with 18 home runs and 92 RBIs.
Jarrett batted fourth last Sunday for Bowie, going 1-for-4 with one RBI in a 3-0 home win over Erie (Pa.). On Monday, he was No. 2 in Bowie’s order as designated hitter and went 0-for-4 and struck out twice in a 3-0 loss to Binghamton (N.Y.).
He pinch hit in Tuesday’s 7-3 loss to Binghamton, going 1-for-1, and went 1-for-3 on Wednesday while batting No. 7 in the order and playing left field in a 2-1 win over Binghamton.
Jarrett is in his third minor league season, playing first at Aberdeen (Md.) and then in 129 games last season at Class A Delmarva (Md.), where he hit .277 with 26 doubles, six triples and 14 home runs.
Jarrett drove in 72 runs, walked 41 times and struck out 136 times and was a South Atlantic League (SAL) All-Star.

Harvey, a first round pick by Baltimore in 2013, is scheduled to make his next start on Saturday at 6:35 p.m. when the Baysox (17-28) continue a series at Erie (Pa.).
His most recent start was last Saturday when he gained his second victory of the season in a 12-1 victory over Erie at Bowie.
Harvey pitched six innings, allowing one run (earned), walking none and striking out eight to improve to 2-3 this season with an ERA of 5.45. He threw strikes on 64 of his 85 pitches and faced 23 batters.
After eight starts this season, he has pitched 36 1/3 innings, allowed 27 runs (22 earned), hit four batters, walked 10 and struck out 40.
The win was the 10th in pro ball for Harvey (10-13, 3.51 ERA) with 70 walks and 257 strikeouts.
Bowie’s results this week, without Harvey pitching: 3-0 win over Erie at Bowie last Sunday; 3-0 loss at home against Binghamton (N.Y.) on Monday; 7-3 home loss to Binghamton on Tuesday; 2-1 win over Binghamton at home on Wednesday; did not play on Thursday.

Deal, a left-hander who played at Bandys High and Presbyterian College, is the scheduled starter for Florida on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Dunedin (Fla.).
He’s 2-2 this season with an ERA of 1.32 after eight appearances, all starts.
Deal’s most recent start was last Sunday when he did not get a decision in Florida’s 2-1 home victory over Jupter (Fla.). He pitched six innings, allowing three hits, one run (earned) with one walk and three strikeouts.
He threw strikes on 52 of his 78 pitches, got nine groundball outs and faced 22 batters.
This season, Deal has pitched 47 2/3 innings, walking 12 and striking out 41. That has boosted his pro career totals to 14-5 with 157 innings pitched, 38 walks, 150 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.12.
