HAYDEN DEAL

(Class A Advanced Florida Fire Frogs)

Deal is a left-hander who played at Bandys High and Presbyterian College.

Last start: Sunday at Tampa (Fla.), where Florida (25-38) lost 5-0 with Deal going one inning. He gave up one hit, two runs (both earned) with one walk and one strikeout.

After back-to-back walks with two outs, he got a swinging strikeout to end the inning. Reliever Lukas Young took the mound for the start of the second inning for the Fire Frogs.

Deal threw strikes on 16 of 22 pitches and faced five batters.

There was a rain delay of about 45 minutes between the first and second inning and, per how the Frogs normally handle lengths of delays between throwing, Deal was replaced.

Current stats: 3-4, 1.88 ERA, 12 starts, 67 innings pitched, 16 walks, 57 strikeouts.

(Class A Advanced Fredrick, Va.)

Jarrett is a former star at Hickory High and at Charlotte who is back with the Keys after playing about a month at Class AA Bowie (Md.).

Sunday: Started in right field, batted fourth in order, at Down East (Kinston) in a 5-0 loss.

Saturday: 1-for-4 in 4-0 loss at Down East (Kinston).

Friday: 1-for-4, started in right field, batted fourth in 3-2, 10 inning loss at Down East (Kinston).

Current stats: .252, four home runs, 18 RBIs.

Last 10 games: .194, one home run, four RBIs.

HARVEY

HUNTER HARVEY

(Class AA Bowie, Md., Baysox)

Harvey was a first round pick by Baltimore in 2013 after a standout career at Bandys High.

Last start: Friday at Portland (Ore.) in 10-3 loss. Pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up nine hits, eight runs (all earned) with three walks and two strikeouts before 5,529. Hit one batter, threw strikes on 58 of 92 pitches, faced 24 batters.

Current stats: 2-5, 6.12 ERA, 11 starts, 50 innings pitched, 40 runs (36 earned), six hit batters, 19 walks, 50 strikeouts, allowed 14 home runs.
