Tides begin six-game series
at Durham on Tuesday night

Zach Jarrett hit his first home run of the season early in a 17-5 home loss to Charlotte on Friday night with Hunter Harvey starting and taking a loss.
Jarrett batted No. 7 in the batting order for the Triple-A Norfolk (Va.) Tides, going 2-for-4, scoring a run and driving in two runs before a crowd of 4,173.
A solo shot in the second inning was Jarrett’s first home run this season and the 28th of his pro career.
Harvey, assigned to Norfolk on a rehab assignment, made the start. He lasted 1 2/3 innings, giving up three hits and three runs (one earned). He walked one and had no strikeouts.
Harvey fell to 1-1 with an ERA of 5.79 and has pitched 4 2/3 innings. He threw strikes on 14 of his 29 pitches in 91 degree weather.
Jarrett’s batting average is up to .318.
The Tides and Knights continue their series on Saturday in Norfolk with a 7:05 p.m. start and end the series Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
After taking Monday off, Norfolk begins a six-game series in Durham. Games Tuesday through Saturday will start at 6:35 p.m. and Sunday’s game is at 5:05 p.m.
