Former Bandys High star Hunter Harvey made his third – and longest start – in Bowie’s 2-1 loss at Akron on Friday night.

Harvey left after four innings after allowing two hits, no runs, one walk and striking out six. He faced 14 batters and threw 63 pitches (40 for strikes).

Harvey is 0-0 with an ERA of 1.08, has given up six hits, one run (earned) with three walks and eight strikeouts.

If he starts every fifth Baysox game, his next scheduled go would come Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. at Erie.

ZACH JARRETT (Class A Delmarva, Md.)

Zach Jarrett is a former Hickory High and Charlotte star who starts in the outfield for the Shorebirds.

On Friday night, he returned home to play against the Hickory Crawdads at L.P Frans Stadium. Delmarva won 7-1 with Jarrett batting third in the Shorebirds’ order and going 2-for-5 and starting in right field.

Jarrett is hitting .343 in 19 games with seven home runs and 14 RBIs, and he’s hitting .395 in his last 10 games with five home runs and 10 RBIs. He is tied for fifth-best batting average among South Atlantic League hitters.

HAYDEN DEAL (Class A Rome, Ga.)

Former Bandys High star Hayden Deal is a relief pitcher for the Braves, who fell 3-1 on the road Friday night to the Hagerstown (Md.) Suns.

Deal has not made an appearance since April 17 at Asheville.

He has pitched five innings and in two games this season with an ERA of 3.60 and one walk versus six strikeouts.
