MARION — McDowell High will have a new varsity girls’ basketball coach next season.

Jennifer Kinninger, 40, a former Titans star who has been head coach for 10 years, resigned earlier this week. She was a McDowell assistant for eight years before becoming head coach.

McDowell went 3-5 in a COVID-shortened year last season, leaving Kinninger’s record at her alma mater at 138-83 and the Titans won three conference titles under her guidance.
