MAIDEN – Maiden High has postponed its next three South Fork 2A volleyball matches due to health concerns and as a safety precaution during COVID-19.

The school announced early Monday that Monday night’s visit to Lake Norman Charter is off and Tuesday’s home match against North Lincoln and an away match on Dec. 1 at East Lincoln won’t be played.

The Blue Devils anticipate a return to action on Dec. 4 at Newton-Conover (6 p.m.), and will follow North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) guidelines as they reschedule the three postponed matches.

The eight-team South Fork 2A will play an NCHSAA-set 14 matches with no non-league matches during the regular season.

Only 25 fans are allowed at league matches and those are limited to home team fans that purchase advance tickets at the school (support personnel and media do not count against the limit of 25).

All South Fork 2A volleyball matches are streamed live at (https://www.sfcnetwork.tv/) and the cost to watch a match is $10, payable at the website.
