Caden O’Brien, a left-hander from Maiden High, is 6-0 with an ERA of 2.14 this season as a freshman for North Carolina. He’s made 28 appearances, two of them starts, and pitched 42 innings with 27 walks and 45 strikeouts as the Tar Heels head into their first game Saturday at the NCAA Division I World Series./UNC PHOTO

Maiden High freshman Caden O’Brien, who has already set freshman pitching records at North Carolina, is with the Tar Heels as they head to Omaha and the NCAA Division I baseball World Series.

The Tar Heels face Oregon State in the opening game of the World Series at 2 p.m. on Saturday (ESPN).
