SD-7 2A SEMIFINALS

No. 3 Bunker Hill vs. No. 2 E. Lincoln, 5 p.m.
N. 4 Maiden vs. No. 1 W. Lincoln, 7 p.m.
The top four seeds in the Southern District 7 Athletic 2A softball tournament each won Tuesday in the opening round.
The tournament semifinals shift from higher seeds to Bunker Hill on Wednesday with No. 3 Bunker Hill (14-7) facing No. 2 East Lincoln (14-6) in a 5 p.m. semifinal that will be followed by No. 4 Maiden (12-6) against No. 1 West Lincoln.
The championship game, also at Bunker Hill, is scheduled Friday at 7 p.m.
West Lincoln has secured the SD-7 2A’s No. 1 state playoff bid and East Lincoln has the second bid unless Bunker Hill or Maiden win the tournament. If either of those teams wins it all, they move ahead of East Lincoln.
No. 1 West Lincoln 16, No. 8 Lincolnton 7: The top-seeded Rebels advanced with a 16-7 home victory over No. 8 Lincolnton in which the Rebels had 19 hits.
Carson Warlick went 5-for-5 and Kylee Leonhardt hit a home run for West Lincoln a report in The Gaston Gazette said.
No. 2 East Lincoln 2, No. 7 Newton-Conover 1: The Mustangs won at home with Kylie Thress going 4-for-4, The Gaston Gazette reported.
No. 4 Maiden 12, No. 5 West Caldwell 1: The Blue Devils rolled to their second win of the year over the Warriors to advance.
Maiden had split with West Caldwell in the regular season, winning 13-5 in Maiden and falling 13-10 on the road.
No. 3 Bunker Hill 6, No. 6 Bandys 2: The Bears tripped the visiting Trojans to advance, beating them for the second time this season.
In the regular season, Bandys won at Bunker Hill 5-4 and the Bears won at Bandys 13-1.
