East Lincoln can wrap up an outright conference title if it defeats Maiden at home on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

DENVER, N.C. – East Lincoln High has indicated its home Southern District 7 Athletic 2A baseball game against Maiden, scheduled on Tuesday, has been postponed.

The Mustangs and Blue Devils will play on Wednesday at 7 p.m., with East Lincoln having a chance to wrap up an outright SD-7 2A title with two league games to go by beating Maiden.

East Lincoln is 14-6 overall and leading the league, which plays a 14-game schedule at 10-2. West Caldwell is in second place at 8-4 and is the only team that could share the title with the Mustangs.

For that to happen, West Caldwell would need wins over Lincolnton (at West Caldwell) and at Bunker Hill on Friday and for Maidcn and West Lincoln (at West Lincoln on Friday) to defeat East Lincoln.

Maiden is 11-8-1 overall and 7-5 in the league, tied with Bunker Hill for third place.
