CORRIGAN
HICKORY – Andrew Kew had four goals on Saturday for Tampa University as it toppled Lenoir-Rhyne University 11-8 in an NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse quarterfinal at Moretz Stadium.
Kew boosted his record-setting total of season goals to 85 to turn back the Bears (12-3), making their first appearance in the national men’s lacrosse tournament in school history.

Tampa (15-4), ranked No. 8 in the nation, advances to play No. 1 Limestone (19-1) next Sunday in a national semifinal in Gaffney, S.C., with the winner advancing to a championship match at Foxboro (Mass.) Stadium.
Limestone advanced on Saturday with a 14-5 home quarterfinal victory over Wingate.
Collin Lett, a junior from Greensboro, and Ben Corrigan, a junior from Alpharetta, Ga., each scored twice for LRU in Saturday’s loss.
Tampa won its fifth straight match, in part by scoring five consecutive goals for a 7-3 lead just under two minutes into the second period.
LRU was within a goal twice – at 8-7 and 9-8 — in the fourth period but the Spartans scored twice to finish off the victory.
Jake Mosher McGraw added two goals and two assists for the Spartans.
LRU fell despite a 39-30 edge in shots taken while junior Ryan Crompton of Fredrick, Md., took the loss in goal despite making 11 saves.
For Tampa, goalkeeper A.J. Arnold made seven saves.
