MINGO BAY CLASSIC: Maiden falls, goes 3-1 during trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

AYNOR, S.C. – Atlantic Shores Christian clipped Maiden 9-7 on Friday to close the Blue Devils’ trip to the Mingo Bay Classic.

Atlantic Shores snapped Maiden’s win streak at three games after the Blue Devils had beaten Watertown (N.Y.), Bishop Grimes (N.Y.) and Immaculate Heart (N.Y.) at the Classic.

Playing at Aynor (S.C.) High, Dylan Landis went 3-for-3 with a double, Taylor Tibbs drove in four runs and Ty Williams scored twice in the loss for Maiden (11-8).

Maiden returns home to play a non-league game on Monday night at 7 p.m., playing host to Senior Night for a game against St. Stephens.

The Blue Devils return to Southern District 7 Athletic 2A play on Tuesday night at 7 p.m., playing a league-leading East Lincoln. The Mustangs need a league win this week (of two games) to close out an outright league championship.

Maiden also plays on Friday, a 7 p.m. league game at home against Lincolnton.
