GREENVILLE, S.C. – After winning a South Atlantic Conference (SAC) basketball tournament game for the first time since 2015, the Lenoir-Rhyne University women are ready for more.

The fourth-seeded Bears (17-12) face top-seeded Anderson, S.C. (26-2) in a semifinal on Saturday at noon at Furman’s Timmons Arena.

LRU head coach Cameron Sealey returns to a territory she’s not been a part of since playing for the Bears. She was a member of the two regular season title teams and one SAC tournament title team while playing for the Bears.

LRU is led by three players recognized by the SAC – Madi Suddreth made the second-eam, Kendall Toinetta received honorable mention and Madeline Hardy made the all-freshman team.

Suddreth is ninth in the all-time scoring list while Toineeta is fifth all-time in assists.

Anderson went 20-0 in conference games and swept LRU, winning 69-63 when Hardy had 12 points and 13 rebounds in 29 minutes and Toineeta came off the bench to put in 12 points of her own.

The semifinal winners meet Sunday at 1 p.m. with the winner gaining an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II tournament.
