LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lenoir-Rhyne University pitcher Emily Kenley, a junior with 21 wins this season, has been named to a national watch list for NCAA Division II Player of the Year.

A junior from Charlotte, she is on a 25 player list generated by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), a press release by LRU on Monday said.
Kenley is 21-3 with an ERA of 1.45 with five shutouts and 106 strikeouts this season. Her win total and ERA top the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
The top player list recognizes players from 20 programs and 13 conferences, and it is trimmed from a top 50 list to a top 25 (nine seniors, nine juniors, six sophomores, one freshman).
A top 10 list, the finalists, will be revealed May 15 and the national player of the year will be announced on June 4.
LRU (42-7, 19-1) is ranked No. 7 in the NCAA Division II poll and No. 2 in the Southeast Region.
The Bears are the top seed for the SAC Championships, which begin on Friday in Anderson, S.C. LRU meets No. 8 Carson-Newman in the first round at 12:30 p.m.
