MEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE: League champion Bears sweep SAC’s top awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne University dominated selections for this season’s All-South Atlantic Conference (SAC) in men’s lacrosse with eight first-team players and top awards for player, freshman and coach for the year.

The team was announced Thursday by conference officials.

PARADINE

Collin Lett of LRU was named SAC Player of the Year, Myles Moffat won SAC Freshman of the Year, and the Bears’ head coach, Greg Paradine, was selected SAC Coach of the Year.

Lett is a senior long stick middle from Greensboro and Moffat is an attacker from Airdie Alberta Canada. Paradine won top coach for the third time in eight seasons as head coach of the Bears.

LRU won its third straight regular-season SAC title and has a 24-match win streak in league contests.

MOFFAT

The Bears (15-1, 8-0) – ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II and No. 1 in the Southeast Region – are the top seed for the SAC tournament, facing fourth-seeded Queens (9-6, 5-3) in a semifinal on Friday at 11 a.m. at Wingate.

Lett has five goals, three assists, 56 ground balls and 33 forced turnovers this season. He gives the Bears two straight league MVPs (Mike Hanlon in 2017).

Moffat is third in scoring for the Bears this season with 28 goals. He has 24 assists and 52 total points.

Joining Lett as first-team All-SAC picks were: junior attacker Joe Buduo, senior attacker Ben Corrigan, sophomore midfielder Eric Dickinson, senior defender Jacob O’Connor, sophomore defender Tyler Bane, senior goalkeeper Ryan Crompton and senior face-off specialist Shane Gottberg.
