The Bears defeated host Catawba 20-11, improving to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in the SAC by posting their ninth straight victory.

Buduo, a junior from Shrewsbury, Mass., has 52 goals this season and 74 total points.

LRU took control early against the Indians, jumping to a 7-1 lead in the first period and never letting the margin get fewer than four goals the rest of the way.

Ben Corrigan added four goals and four assists for the Bears, ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II.

LRU dominated in shots taken, 55-33.

Catawba’s Justin Warnock scored three times, and Hunter Cheuvront suffered a setback in goal despite making 15 saves.

Ryan Crompton, the Bears’ senior goalkeeper, earned a victory after making seven stops.

LRU also broke its school record for single-season wins in men’s lacrosse and is 36-4 since the start of the 2016 season.

The Bears go to Mars Hill on Saturday for a league match at 2 p.m., and a win would assure LRU of no worse than a share of its third straight regular-season SAC title.
