GREENSBORO – Lenoir-Rhyne University outfielder Justin Dean is on another All-Region team, selected this week for an American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings team.
Dean, a junior from Mauldin, S.C., was named second-team on the All-Southeast Region team, a week after being picked for a team selected by the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA).
A first-team All-South Atlantic Conference (SAC) player this season, he led the Bears (27-22, 13-14) with a .398 batting average, 59 runs scored, 74 hits, 119 total bases and a .640 slugging percentage.
Starting all 49 games this season, Dean hit six home runs and and 36 RBIs to go along with a team-high 13 doubles, a league-leading seven triples, a .498 on-base percentage and 14 stolen bases.
The regional teams are voted on by members of the ABCA.
All-Region players have a chance to be seleced to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America team, which will be released on Tuesday. Gold Glove teams for all NCAA divisions will be announced on June 20.
