WOMEN’S COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Mars Hill extends Lenoir-Rhyne’s losing streak to 4

MARS HILL – Mars Hill University extended visiting Lenoir-Rhyne’s volleyball losing streak to four matches with a 3-1 conference win on Tuesday night.

The Lions (11-15, 9-10) won 20-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-16 in a South Atlantic Conference match that left the Bears at 10-14 overall and 6-12 in the SAC.

Rebecca Butler had 13 kills and 26 digs, and Maddie Spuregon had 13 kills to lead Mars Hill.

For LRU, Brooke Redmond had 17 kills and 19 digs and Taylor Prall posted 16 kills. Maggie Bogart added 30 assists and 21 digs for the Bears, who had nine blocks.

Mars Hill won for the fourth straight time and ran its win streak to four.

LRU has a home match next, playing Newberry, S.C., at 6 p.m. on Friday.
