BANNER ELK – Lenoir-Rhyne University opened its women’s soccer schedule on Thursday, winning 1-0 on the road over Lees-McRae College.

Abbie Brown, a senior from Leeds, England, scored in the 70^th minute for the only goal of the match.

LRU’s home opener is Saturday at 7 p.m. against USC Aiken.
