CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Lenoir-Rhyne University is a top 20 team in women’s golf as it nears the open of a new season this month.
The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WCGA) released its preseason poll on Wednesday and has the Bears at No. 20 in NCAA Division II.
LRU ended last season ranked No. 23 in NCAA Division II by Golfstat.
Last year’s Bears advanced to the postseason for the first time since 2003 and won four tournaments – the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, Lincoln Memorial Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, Wingate Intercollegiate Challenge and Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic.
LRU’s season begins Sept. 16 -18at the State Farm Intercollegiate at Woodcreek Golf Club.
