WOMEN’S COLLEGE GOLF: Lenoir-Rhyne in 6th after a round of SAC Championship

ELGIN, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne University’s women are in sixth place after the opening round of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Championships in women’s golf.

The Bears shot 39-over par 327 at The Members Club at Woodcreek on Sunday.

Wingate leads after shooting 22-over par 310 on a par-72, 5,830-yard course.

The second of three rounds is Monday.

Juniors Chelsea Mansel and Abbey Hartsell led LRU, both shooting 7-over par 79 to tie for 12th on the individual leaderboard.

Wingate’s Warissa Puangcharoen and Tusculum’s Cydney Murrell share the individual lead over finishing at 3-over par 75.
