ROCK HILL, S.C. – The men’s tennis team at Lenoir-Rhyne University has been picked to finish seventh in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) this season.

In a vote of the league’s head coaches, the Bears had two players selected preseason All-SAC (second-team).

Queens and Wingate were tabbed to finish 1-2 in the league race.

Junior Hamed Gandouz of Hammam Sousse, Tunisa and senior Tomas Hons of Valasske Mezirici, Czech Republic are LRU’s preseason-all league selections.

Gandouz was all-league second-team last spring after going 11-4 playing No. 1 singles. He was 6-3 in conference matches and won eight doubles matches.

Hons went 12-6 last year, four of those wins coming in the SAC. He played first or second singles, also played 18 matches at No. 1 doubles and picked up 10 victories.

LRU is 3-1 and opens the spring portion of its schedule on Feb. 1, playing Young Harris at the YMCA of Catawba Valley.
