MEN’S COLLEGE GOLF: Bears’ Vogler fires a 66 as they lead Rendleman tournament

SALISBURY – Senior Jordan Vogler shot a 5-under par 66 to gain the individual lead and help Lenoir-Rhyne University’s men sit atop the team standings Monday at the Richard Rendleman Invitational.

Vogler, who is from Pilot Mountain leads the field by two strokes, and the Bears’ Brad Robinson, a junior from the United Kingdom, is tied for second after a 3-under par 68 in the opening round at the Country Club of Salisbury.

LRU is at 2-over par 286, one stroke up on Catawba.

The tournament’s final round is Tuesday.
