HICKORY – Brooke Redmond’s 19 kills helped Lenoir-Rhyne University topple visiting Lees-McRae 3-1 on Saturday in women’s college volleyball.
LRU won 25-16, 22-25, 25-11, 25-19.
Redmond sparked the Bears (3-2) with her team-high in kills and 11 digs while Laila Horton added 10 kills, Anna Smith had 29 assists and 14 digs at Shuford Gym.
Caityln Smirne led Lees-McRae (0-4) with eight kills and a team-best 13 digs, and Logan Slusher and Lexi Zangari had seven each.
LRU’s next match is a South Atlantic Conference (SAC) battle with Anderson, S.C., on the road Tuesday at 7 p.m.
