ROCK HILL, S.C. – Both Lenoir-Rhyne University soccer teams missed the postseason when pairings for the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional were announced on Monday.
The LRU men, who shared the regular season title with Queens and were the top seed for the conference tournament, finished 11-6. They fell to Anderson, S.C., in the SAC tournament semifinals.
The LRU women, seeded third in the conference tournament, finished 11-6-1. They tied Lincoln Memorial for second place in the regular season, and the Railsplitters eliminated the Bears in the semifinals of the league tournament.
The men’s SAC teams advancing are conference tournament champion Tusculum, Queens and Anderson, S.C.
The women’s SAC teams advancing are Carson-Newman, conference tournament champion Lincoln Memorial and Catawba.
The tournaments begin on Thursday and Friday, second round matches are Saturday and Sunday, third round and quarterfinal matches are Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 17-18 and the national semifinals and championships are Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh.
