Former Bandys High star Hunter Harvey made his second start of the season on Friday, going 2 1/3 innings against Akron in a game the Baysox eventually won 5-3. He gave up two hits, no runs, walked two and struck out one and he threw 55 pitches (30 for strikes) and faced 11 batters before a home crowd of 3,288.

Harvey is 0-0 with an ERA of 2.08, has given up four hits, one run (earned) with two walks and two strikeouts.

His next start is scheduled to be Wednesday at Bowie in an 11:05 a.m. game against Richmond.

ZACH JARRETT (Class A Delmarva, Md.)

Former Hickory High and Charlotte star Zach Jarrett, an outfielder, hit his fifth home run of the season in the first inning of a 5-2 home loss on Friday night to Lakewood, N.J.

He is hitting .340 – tied for ninth in the South Atlantic League — with five runs and 10 RBIs through 13 games this season.

Former Bandys High star Hayden Deal, a relief pitcher, did not pitch on Friday in Rome’s 5-4 home victory over Augusta (Ga.).

He has pitched five innings and in two games this season with an ERA of 3.60 and one walk versus six strikeouts.
