Hunter Harvey got one 0ut — via a strikeout — in a brief relief appearance for the Washington Nationals on Thursday night in Pittsburgh, where the Pirates won 9-4.
Harvey, a former star at Bandys High, came into the game in the fourth inning, replacing Nats starter Joan Adon, and did not return for the fifth inning.
The Nats fell to 3-5 and the Pirates are 3-3 heading into Friday night’s game in Pittsburgh.
Harvey, recalled to the major leagues last Sunday, has pitched in two games. He worked an inning in a game in Atlanta on Monday night.
On Thursday. Harvey threw strikes on seven of 11 pitches and faced two batters.
