SARASOTA, Fla. – Former Bandys High ace Hunter Harvey, who is on the Baltimore Orioles’ 40-man roster, is in spring training and ready to see where the next baseball season takes him.

Harvey, 24 and a first-round draft pick in 2013, has battled injuries for several years but is back throwing. He has not pitched a full season since turning pro.

At a recent baseball event at Catawba Valley Community College – where his brother, Kris, is pitching coach – Harvey said he’d been throwing while home in Catawba County and he’s excited about getting back on the mound.

Harvey spent two days in the major leagues last season but did not pitch.
