WASHINGTON, D.C. — Hunter Harvey was back on the mound on Tuesday night in the ninth inning for the Washington Nationals.
The visiting Mets won 7-3 before 29,034 who saw Harvey — a right-hander who was a dominant high school pitcher at Bandys — work one inning. He gave up no hits, no runs, walked none and had no strikeouts.
The outing, his 13th of the season, left Harvey at 0-0 with an ERA of 2.31 with 14 strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings.
Harvey did not pitch on Wednesday night when the series with the Mets continued.
He threw strikes on seven of his 14 pitches and faced three batters, improving his career big league marks to 1-2 with 3.06 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 35 1/3 innings.
The Nationals play at Philadelphia on Thursday through Sunday and then at the Chicago Cubs on Monday through next Wednesday. The next home series for Washington is July 12-14 against San Diego.
