BALTIMORE — Hunter Harvey, recalled from a rehab assignment to Norfolk (Va.) on Friday, pitched an inning on Sunday as the Baltimore Orioles routed visiting Cleveland 18-5.
Harvey came on in relief of Jo Lopez and allowed one hit while facing four batters. He threw strikes on eight of his 10 pitches before a Camden Yards crowd of 9,423.
In two Orioles games this season, Harvey is 0-0 with two innings pitched and an ERA o 4.50.
Baltimore is off on Monday, then plays at home against the New York Mets on Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
The next appearance by Harvey will be his 20th in the big leagues.
He has been working his way back from being on the 60-day disabled list with an oblique injury.
Bryan Harvey was a star relief pitcher for nearly 10 years in the major leagues with the then-California Angels and then-Florida Marlins. He turned 58 this week.
