HUNTER HARVEY: Orioles send former Bandys star to Triple-A farm club

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Baltimore Orioles have optioned former Bandys High pitching star Hunter Harvey to their Triple-A team in Norfolk, Va.

The move, announced on Sunday, means Harvey — a former first-round draft pick (2013) battling back from a series of injuries — will be in Baltimore’s minor league camp for the rest of the month.

He had two spring training outings with the major league Orioles since going to training camp – allowing two runs on two hits on Feb. 25 against Minnesota and throwing a scoreless inning on Friday against Tampa Bay.

Harvey was in the major leagues for two days last season.

If he is assigned to Norfolk, it would be the first time he would be assigned to a Triple-A team, one step away from the big leagues.
