HUNTER HARVEY: Gives up run in ninth inning of loss to Mets

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The New York Mets faced former Bandys High star Hunter Harvey in the ninth inning again on Wednesday night.

New York touched the former first round draft pick for one run in a 9-5 win before 29,034.

Harvey gave up one hit, one run (earned), walked none and struck out one. He is now 0-0 with an ERA of 2.84 in 14 games this season with 15 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings.

The appearance was the 40th in the major leagues for Harvey, who is 1-2 with a 3.22 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings.

He threw 17 pitches with 11 strikes to four batters in the ninth inning  on Wednesday night.

The Nationals (36-70) begin a road trip on Thursday, opening a four-game series at Philadelphia. Next up is a Monday through Wednesday series at the Chicago Cubs before a home series July 12-14 against San Diego.
