COACHES, HOW TO REPORT RESULTS
Head coaches in all varsity sports in the South Fork 2A, Northwestern Foothills 2A and Northwestern 3A-4A are asked to report results to HobbsDailyReport.com as soon as possible after the completion of an event.
Results should be e-mailed to chobbs001@att.net and should include all pertinent first and last names (for both schools).
Here’s the type of information (for both teams) we’ll need:
JUNIOR VARSITY FOOTBALL: Final score, who scored and how (type play, yardage) plus statistical leaders on offense and defense, team records.
VARSITY FOOTBALL: Same as JV football.
VOLLEYBALL: Final scores (i.e. 15-11, 15-10, 15-8), match location, first and last names of statistical leaders, team records.
BOYS’ SOCCER: Final score, match location, first and last names of those who scored and those who had assists, saves by goalie and other statistical leaders, team leaders, team records.
GIRLS’ TENNIS: Standard tennis summary for high schools: WINNING TEAM 00, LOSING TEAM 00… Singles: Player A (school) d. Player B, 6-0, 6-0… singles and doubles in the order they were played, i.e. start with No. 1 singles… team records.
CROSS COUNTRY: Final team scores, match location, top 10 finishers with first and last names and school they are from.
GIRLS’ GOLF: Final team scores, final individual scores.

DENVER, N.C. — Welcome to the next step for HobbsDailyReport.com, the newest local website in the Greater Hickory area that will intensely focus on high school teams/coverage in the South Fork 2A, Northwestern Foothills 2A and the Northwestern 3A-4A.

Our FREE site has an individual page devoted to each high school in those three conferences, so you will be able to follow your school’s athletics — if it reports results, etc. — on both our front page and then on the individual page for your school (go to High School Sports for a drop down menu of schools).

We are currently seeking advertisers in the various communities to sponsor the school pages (e-mail chobbs001@att.net for more details). Their support of a high school will help HobbsDailyReport.com be a unique site, as there are no fees, subscriptions or costs associated with making the website where you get your local sports news.

While high school football will be a big part of what we provide readers, we are also providing daily schedules (and results) — starting Monday night — on all other varsity fall sports.

We will have JV football on Thursday nights, and if JV results are also provided by schools as they report their varsity sports scores, those will be with that varsity report as often as we can. With 23 schools to address, the primary focus will be on varsity athletics.

Another feature you’ll enjoy — and sponsored this school year by Burke Mortuary — is the High School Scores page. You can visit the page to find scores reported to HobbsDailyReport.com in all sports. That page will be updated as results become available and you can check it each night or morning for the latest in results from football, volleyball, boys’ soccer, girls’ tennis, cross country and girls’ golf.

We will have a daily schedule of athletic events on the website, compiled from schedules we’ve received from the schools, so you can make daily or weekly plans if you’d like to attend a high school event in your area.

As always, Fridays will be a big morning for HobbsDailyReport.com, as I will have a wide variety of things posted about the high school football games scheduled that night. After a year away from writing game capsules about every game, I’m returning to that because readers have told me that’s one of the items they have most often followed during my 43-year career covering the area’s high schools.

Thanks for the read and for giving HobbsDailyReport.com a look-see. We’re working to become the No. 1 website for high school coverage — especially of high school football — in the region and show that you no longer need to spend your money on other media to be well-informed and updated on teams in the South Fork 2A, Northwestern Foothills 2A and in the Northwestern 3A-4A.
