If you’re interested in advertising with HobbsDailyReport.com – we have a wide range of opportunities ranging from being a top-of-the-page sponsor to smaller ads with smaller fees and from being a page sponsor for an entire school year to ads that publish on a monthly basis at a location of your choice on the website – please contact Chris Hobbs at HobbsDailyReport@gmail.com.
We’re looking for school page sponsors for the rest of the basketball season and then for spring sports… so you can join our list from January to June or for any period of time that might help your business.
We’ll also have content over the summer and then gear up for our second football season come August, when a wide variety of ad opportunities will be available to help you reach thousands of student-athletes, parents, uncles and aunts and grandparents of the many thousands of players participating at the 23 high schools in the Greater Hickory area’s three conferences.
For more on why HobbsDailyReport.com is free and wants to remain that way – and on the more than 40 years of experience that drives the website’s content, etc. – review About Chris Hobbs on the website.

We’ve added something new to HobbsDailyReport.com that we hope to have as often as possible for your enjoyment as part of the best coverage of local sports in the Greater Hickory area – game videos.

Live action videos are limited to no more than three minutes of a game and can’t be posted while a game is ongoing per North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) rules and policy.

MYRA HOBBS

Give a shout out to our video person when you see her – it’s my wife, Myra Hobbs, because she is more video and social media-oriented than an old school guy like me. When I started covering sports in 1976 – well before she was even born – all we had to look forward to was still pictures – there were no cell phones, no digital cameras, etc.

She accompanied me to opening night of the 31st annual Dick’s Sporting Goods Classic at Catawba Valley Community College’s Tarlton Complex on Wednesday and we’ve posted links to these first-round games (go to Wednesday’s summaries on the website — boys and girls summaries are posted separately — and you will find the links just below the box scores on these games).

Thanks again for visiting HobbsDailyReport.com, and keep coming back as we add new wrinkles and continue to provide you with a FREE place to visit for the most complete coverage of high school sports in the South Fork 2A, Northwestern Foothills 2A and Northwestern 3A-4A.

Sending wishes for a Happy New Year in advance as we rev up to enter 2018 when we will soon celebrate the one year birthday of HobbsDailyReport.com in April, then head into the spring sports season.

We cover the three local high school leagues plus other local sports – Lenoir-Rhyne University, the Hickory Crawdads, Catawba Valley Community College sports and more … 365 days a year — with one writer/information gather (me) and one video guru (Myra).

It’s a labor of love.

Game videos now posted from Wednesday are:
