CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has completed bracketing for the state girls’ volleyball playoffs that begin on Saturday.
Below are teams from the South Fork 2A, Northwestern Foothills 2A and Northwestern 3A-4A that qualified for the postseason.
Ten 2A teams advanced from the area, four made the 3A bracket and McDowell, which has a first-round bye, is the only area team in the 4A bracket.
In 2A, Maiden and Fred T. Foard earned home matches on Saturday while Hickory is also at home for a 3A match.
Maiden’s match against West Wilkes begins at 4 p.m., and Hickory will entertain A.C. Reynolds at 6 p.m. Foard has not yet indicated its starting time against East Rutherford.
