TAYLORSVILLE – All Alexander Central High athletics events scheduled Tuesday are postponed following storms and damaging winds that swept through the area on Monday night.
School officials said the state 3A second round volleyball match at Cox Mill will be played on Wednesday at 6 p.m., while the home soccer match against Hickory is postponed with a new playing date to be determined.
The Cougars are the West No. 20 seed in the volleyball bracket and Cox Mill is seeded fourth. The winner gets a third round match on Thursday against the winner of Tuesday’s No. 21 Waynesville Tuscola at No. 5 Watauga match.
