Lance Garland and Kyle Sink each added a goal for the Cougars (1-0).
Garland, Lopez, Gavin White, Alex Romero and Silent Lee each had an assist for Alexander Central.
The Cougars’ next match is Thursday at 6 p.m. at Ashe County.
East Lincoln 6, Shelby 4
Chase Gilley had three goals and one assist, sparking the Mustangs’ home victory to open the season.
Logan Gilley added two goals and three assists for East Lincoln while Ty Knight scored once and Noah Graden provided an assist.
East Lincoln next plays on Thursday at home, facing Forest Hills at 6 p.m.
