MORGANTON – Anna McDonald capped the Northwestern 3A-4A girls’ golf season on Tuesday by completing a sweep of medalist honors and by winning the individual title and giving Hickory High a conference title.
McDonald shot a nine-hole score of 34 at Silver Creek Plantation to end up as the medalist for all six league matches this season. Her 211 season total gave her the individual title by 52 strokes over Tyler Price of McDowell and Albany Bock of Freedom.
Hickory shot a 127 on Tuesday, winning by five strokes over Freedom, by also getting a round of 43 by Samantha Harrington.
Other top rounds at Silver Creek included a 35 by Albany Bock of Freedom and 44s by Christina Fisher of Freedom and Price.
Jackie Little had the best Tuesday round for Alexander Central at 54, Abby Gray had a 48 for South Caldwell and Alice Knight led Watauga with a 53.
