GASTONIA – The Gaston Gazette asked South Fork 2A head football coaches to predict the order of finish in their high school football league, and Newton-Conover was tabbed the favorite.

Newton-Conover, first, 47 points
E. Lincoln, Lincolnton, Maiden, tied for second, 36 points each
Bandys, fifth, 22 points
N. Lincoln, W. Lincoln, tied for sixth, 12 points each
Lake Norman Charter, seventh, 12 points
