Bandys advances to the second round and will play No. 6 West Stokes — a 36-27 home winner Friday over No. 11 Fred T. Foard – on Friday at Bandys in the second round… The Trojans are now 35-23 in postseason games, including 21-4 at Butler Stadium… Howard became Bandys’ the all-time rushing leader with his 41-yard TD run in the third quarter; he came in with 4,000 yards and needing 65 to pass Chris Spade (2003-2004)… Spade, who now lives in Mooresville, attended the game… Howard’s official rushing total for the game will be determined by the Bandys coaching staff after it reviews the game film… Howard’s unofficial quarter-by-quarter rushing against Franklin was 3-22, 5-27, 9-115 and 7-56…Hojancki’s 63-yard TD run got him past 1,000 rushing yards for the season… Before Hojnacki, no Bandys QB had gained more than 612 years in a season, and he could be the first Trojans QB to gain 1K in a season, as detailed statistics are available only for the 1977 through 2018 seasons (first team was in 1959)…Chris Douglas, the rushing record holder (3,261) before Spade, made a trip from Maryland to attend the game and was part of a post-game ceremony on the field honoring Howard… Douglas was an All-ACC running back at Duke who made it to the last cut with the New York Giants before an injury in an exhibition game at the Carolina Panthers eventually ended his playing career.
