Foard’s Coulter West champ
Karina Coulter of Fred T. Foard won the individual title in Swannaoa, finishing in 20 minutes, 21:01 seconds.
Alyssa Lefler of Brevard was second, leading her team to a title, in 20:27.37.
Chloe Fountain of Fred T. Foard was the only other area runner in the top 20, finishing 12th in 21:48.84.
Wolves Hopkins’ wins West title
Daniel Hopkins of Lincolnton won the individual race in 16:46.38, ahead of Tafton Baker of Ashe County (16:49.62) in Swannanoa.
Area runners finishing in the Top 10 were: Ben Trimm of Fred T. Foard (17:38.08, 10th), Finn Riggsbee of Patton (18:08.94, 18th), Logan Shuford of East Burke (18:11.24, 19th) and Johnathan Puiu of Fred T. Foard (18:11.70, 20th).
Draughn was third as a team, led by a 21st-place finish by Tyler Ollis (18:13.37).

Pioneers place five in top 20
Watauga had five girls finish in the top 20 at McAlpine in Charlotte, led by Sophia Ritter’s 18:45.10 for second place.
Joana Strange of North Iredell won the race in 18:35.90.
Watauga won the team title after Caroline Edwards (19:52.10) took sixth, Hanna Curtis (20:11.80) was eighth, Emma Beach finished 17th (20:40.30) and Riley Fowler placed 19th in 20:42.50.
Northwestern 3A-4A trio in top 10
Three Northwestern 3A-4A boys’ runners finished in the top 10 at McAlpine in Charlotte.
Hunter White of North Henderson won in 15:44.90.
Avery Cannon of Watauga (16:01.60) finished fourth, Cooper Castellaw of Alexander Central (16:01.90) was fifth and St. Stephens’ Dalton McGlamery was sixth in 16:04.00.
Gavin Sweeny of Watauga placed 14th in 16:30.40.
Asheville Roberson won the boys’ team title.

Providence’s Clark wins
Pace Clark of Providence finished in 16:18.90 to win the boys’ race at McAlpine in Charlotte.
Mooresville won the team title.
South Caldwell’s Caleb Rushing was 65th, finishing in 19:38.50.
Myers Park sweeps
Myers Park won the team title and individual title with Cora Cooke finishing in 18:34.80 at McAlpine in Charlotte.
Jade Hutto of South Caldwell ran 25:39.10 to finish 69th.
