Notes: The Red Tornadoes collect their 20th Classic title … Hickory out-rebounded St. Stephens 39-28, led by Thurman’s 12 and Drew Cline’s 10 paced the Indians (nine on defensive boards) … The Red Tornadoes hit six 3-pointers, two each by Cody Young, James and Freeman … Scott hit five of eight free throws for the Indians … Freeman had five of Hickory’s 16 assists … The Indians made 20 turnovers … Thurman hit all seven of his field goal attempts for the Red Tornadoes and Freeman hit seven of 11 … Hickory shot 44.4 percent, including 55.6 in the second half, and the Indians shot 45.9.

Notes: Dylan Richardson had a game-high eight rebounds for Maiden while Kendall Flowers and Jackson Barr led Alexander Central with six each … Maiden had only seven turnovers and forced the Cougars into only 10 … The Cougars were 7 of 24 from 3-point range with Flowers hitting three and Maiden made three of 20 behind the arc … Maiden shot 30.9 percent to the Cougars’ 29.5 … Alexander Central shot only two free throws (by Lyndon Strickland) and hit both and Richardson made four of four for Maiden, which went five of nine on free throws … Boyles was seven of 12 from the floor for the Blue Devils.

Notes: The Bears doubled the Spartans in rebounding (40-20) with Carlos Fletcher grabbing a game-high 11 … Kaden Anderson had five assists for South Caldwell … Ramseur hit 11 of 12 free throws for Bunker Hil, which went 27 of 39 at the free-throw line … South Caldwell outscored the Bears 32-26 in the paint and 19-11 off turnovers … Bunker Hill shot 43.2 percent and the Spartans shot 40 percent … Jackson Brown had four steals for South Caldwell … Bears head coach Lee Swanson was facing his old school – he left South Caldwell to take the Bunker Hill job three years ago.

Notes: Foard snapped a 13-game win streak that dated back to last season …  Foard shot 31.8 percent to the Red Devils’ 31 percent … Cameron Skeens led Foard’s rebounding with eight while Smith had six to lead Newton-Conover … The teams combined to hit only one of 21 attempts on 3-pointers (Foard 1-14; N-C 0-7) … Jake Colosimo had five of Foard’s nine assists … Bunker Hill converted 15 of 19 free throws with Schmidt making six of eight and Colosimo four of five … Schmidt was six of 19 from the field and missed all nine of his 3-point attempts.
