Tuesday’s fourth round results in the state’s West 2A, West 3A and West 4A brackets with teams from the South Fork 2A, Northwestern Foothills 2A and Northwestern 3A-4A indicated by bold and all caps.
The West championship games are Saturday at times to be announced and at locations — Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem or UNC Greensboro — on Wednesday by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA).
An NCHSAA official clarified on Tuesday that all teams advancing to the fourth round are credited with a Regional appearance, consistent with the criteria used since the regional concept began in 1980 (reach a Final Four in the East or West bracket). The only significant format change has been that first-round Regional games are now played at the highest remaining seeds.
