Notes: Bunker Hill’s only loss this season came Saturday, 75-58 to Enka in the Coaches vs. Cancer Games in Asheville… Maiden fell in the return of Frank Snider as head coach… Snider is coaching the Blue Devils for the second time, having previously guided them in 2001-02 through 2003-04… Snider has also been boys’ varsity basketball head coach at Maiden two times – from 1984-85 through 1995-96 and for three seasons starting in 2004-05… The Blue Devils have won 40 of their last 55 games and made five straight state playoff appearances… The Bears went from 2-23 in 2016-17 to 9-17 last season.

Notes: North Iredell shot 52.4 percent in the second half, 43.1 for the game and held the Cougars to 16.2 percent, including 10 percent (2-for-20) in the opening half… The Raiders won the boards 37-32 with Allen and LaLonde each having eight and Nikki Hagy grabbing seven for the Cougars… LaLonde hit eight of her 15 shots, Walter made six of 11 for North Iredell, 7-of-21 from 3-point range… Alexander Central made three of 16 3-point shots… North Iredell shot 14 free throws, converting nine, and Alexander Central was 4-of-8 on free throws… The Cougars had 35 turnovers… Addie Pennell had five of North Iredell’s 18 assists and nine of their 26 steals… The Raiders outscored the Cougars 30-6 in the paint, 20-0 on fastbreak points and 43-7 on points via turnovers.

Notes: Alexander Central shot 51.3 percent to North Iredell’s 28 percent … The Cougars shot 58.8 percent in the opening half… Alexander Central won the boards 35-31, led by seven by Lowrance, and Blake Barzee had a game-high eight for the Raiders … North Iredell made 12 of 16 free throws – led by Antonio Allen’s 7-of-8 — and Alexander Central went 9 of 24 … Lowrance hit eight of his 11 shots and was 3-for-4 on 3-pointers… Teague hit five of nine 3-pointers for the Raiders, who made seven of 25 from behind the arc.
