Notes: Bandys went 20-7 last season, the third under head coach Nicki (Sigmon) Brittain. She married Maiden boys’ head coach Justin Brittain in the offseason… Her teams, 47-30 at Bandys, her alma mater, have won three straight at Maiden… The Blue Devils went 14-14 last year, head coach Frank Snider’s second year in his second tenure as girls’ head coach (now 23-32 in this tenure)…Coming in, the Blue Devils had won seven of the last 10 games in the series, including six straight at one point… Bandys is 105-13 against Maiden since 1970-71.

Notes: South Caldwell went 11-13 last season and started 6-0… The Spartans lost six of their final eight games last season … South Caldwell head coach Jeff Parham, starting his 23rd season, is now unofficially 379-211… Parham has already posted more than 400 wins as baseball head coach at South Caldwell … Watauga went 18-9 last season under head coach Laura Berry, now 76-34 as she begins her fourth year coaching the Pioneers (she is also coaching the varsity boys, second year).

Notes: Maiden went 7-18 last season in Justin Brittain’s debut as head coach, losing its last six games and 13 of its final 14 … The loss came in Rob Bliss’ debut as head coach at Bandys (he’s a former Maiden principal and ex-head boys’ coach also at East Burke and Fred T. Foard)… Bandys went 8-17 last year under Matt Oaks, falling in its last three games and going 1-6 in its final seven games …Maiden has won 12 of the last 14 meetings, which at one point included an eight-game win streak … The Blue Devils have a seven-game home win streak over the Trojans… The teams have now played 101 times since the 1970-71 season, Bandys leading the series 57-44… The Trojans were 25-1 in the first 26 meetings in that time span and won the first 11 games.
