HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Newton-Conover’s Cornwell, Freedom’s Abee named AP All-State

Two players from the Greater Hickory area’s conferences were named all-state on Friday by the North Carolina Associated Press.

Media members of AP that cover high school athletics voted on the teams, naming Chyna Cornwell of Newton-Conover to the girls’ unit and Fletcher Abee of Freedom to the boys’ team.
Cornwell is a junior while Abee is a senior who has signed to play at The Citadel.
