CHAPEL HILL – The state high school basketball games – scheduled next Saturday – will be played at North Carolina and N.C State.
There were no title games two ago because of COVID (co-champions were declared), and last year’s title games were played in high school gyms.
The return to college venues was first reported by HighSchoolOT.com in a tweet, and James Alverson of the NCHSAA confirmed the moves when asked by HobbsDailyReport.com.
The NCHSAA did not send a press release or announce the decision on its website.
Alverson said a press release will be prepared once the teams are set that will play for those titles.
The regional title games were at eight neutral sites on Saturday, primarily in large capacity gyms.
