Notes: Alexander Central snapped a 11-game losing streak and beat the Indians for the second time this season … The Cougars beat St. Stephens 45-34 at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Classic on Dec. 27 at CVCC … The Indians beat the Cougars 39-32 in Hickory on Jan. 8 in a conference game … St. Stephens has lost six straight games and eight of nine … Alexander Central shot 42.9 percent and St. Stephens shot 19.3 … Rhodes led the Indians with 13 rebounds and Hagy had 13 to lead the Cougars … St. Stephens hit only three of 28 from 3-point range (Makayla Stafford went 0-for-11) and Pennell hit four for Alexander Central … The Cougars outscored the Indians 26-14 in the paint … Alexander Central had a 30-21 edge on the defensive boards with Hagy pulling eight.
