The West 2A best-of-3 championship baseball series – West Lincoln versus North Lincoln – will begin on Tuesday night at North Lincoln.
West Lincoln, seeded No. 13, is 21-7 and has won four games in a row while North Lincoln (22-5) is the No. 2 seed and has won eight games in a row.
Game time on Tuesday at North Lincoln will be 7 p.m., with the second game of the series set for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at West Lincoln.
If a third game is needed, it will be played Friday at 7 p.m. at North Lincoln.
The West champion advances to a three-game state title series against No. 11 Randleman (25-4) or No. 4 Washington (20-5), who play a three-game series for the East 2A title.
North Lincoln and West Lincoln shared the South Fork 2A regular season title.
The Rebels beat the Knights 3-0 at West Lincoln on March 12 and North Lincoln beat West Lincoln 16-0 at North Lincoln on April 4.
Bandys knocked West Lincoln out of the tournament before losing to North Lincoln in the final, which gave the Knights the conference’s No. 1 seed into the postseason.
North Lincoln has outscored opponents 26-4 through four rounds and after edging Central Academy 5-4 in the first round has three straight shutout wins at home – 10-0 in five innings over Wilkes Central, 4-0 over West Stokes and 7-0 over North Davidson.
West Lincoln has outscored its four postseason foes 21-10, winning all four at home – 5-1 over South Point, 7-4 at Franklin, 5-2 at home against Smoky Mountain and 4-3 over Oak Grove.
