HICKORY – Hickory High’s Bradley Fleenor has signed to play baseball at Surry Community College.

He is back at HHS after having attended the school as a freshman and sophomore. He spent his junior year in Apopka, Fla.

Fleenor’s college decision was announced via a press release from the Hickory Public Schools. His father, Tom, is head baseball coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University.

“It was the best fit for me from a baseball standpoint,” Bradley Fleenor said of Surry Community in the press release. “Signing to play baseball on the college level is a big achievement – and I am looking forward to working hard at the sport.”

Bradley Fleenor, a shortstop, will start his college career in August, and he he will be coached by Tim Collins.

“Bradley provides us with pop from the left side of the plate and he is an extremely hard worker,” Collins said in the press release. “He has great baseball knowledge, and I feel his best baseball is ahead of him.

“I am very excited about having Bradley be a part of the program at Surry.”
